Stay Centered over Shocking Changes

We are in a years of constant change among shocking mass media, advancing technologies ,  exponentially increasing insight, instant global information and disintegrating moral fiber.  While we wax and prosper with the privilege and convenience of technologies, many find it distracting, confusing and abominable to keep up with imposing changes.

The trend is here to blockage; there is no way to stop the change and not much we could do to detour the course.  With the far-reaching mass information and knowledge available instantly with a click, we have to be our own savvy adjudicator, effectively and instantly using or discarding information/matter as they come.  As no one can afford isolation, how do we achieve our goals by optimizing our resources, interval and effort in a jungle without a road map? The pantry is emerging as the Swiss army knife of rooms.

No longer secret behind swinging doors, kitchens have become the multitasking heart of the home.

"Because the dip has had an emotional impact on us, there tends to be a return to hearth and living quarters," says Janice Anne Costa, compiler of Kitchen & Bath Design News. "People are doing more at shelter - working, entertaining, cooking, crafting, enjoying hobbies. . . . We have in mind of the kitchen as a personal place. . . . There's an emotional resonance that goes with being in my haven with my friends and surrounded by the things I love."

The edition of homes larger than 2,500 square feet dwindled between 2007 and 2009, according to a new HUD survey, but officials say the American kitchen did not shrink along with the holiday of the house.

"Homebuilders tell us that kitchens are colonizing a greater dole out of space in the home because people are now using their kitchens as venereal space, not just work space," says Brian Sullivan of HUD.

The Nautical galley is stretching out into the dining room, annexing the family latitude and corralling unused corners, according to Rita Wilkins of Avondale, president of Form Services Inc. in Wilmington, who has designed kitchens from Rittenhouse Quadrilateral to the Watergate in Washington.
