Red Stick Farmers Market for July 15, 2010
The Red Be upheld Farmers Market in downtown Baton Rouge this Saturday celebrates “Melon Passion” by showcasing varieties of melons including watermelon and cantaloupe. Farmers will percentage the best methods for choosing melons.
The farmers’ market is held each Saturday from 8 a.m. to high noon on Fifth Street between Main and North streets.
In the Most recent From the Market program, host chef Celeste Gill will well-received chefs from the Louisiana Culinary Institute who will demonstrate recipes using seasonal fruit. Gill will show out to use melons for soir menus.
The show begins at 10 a.m. Saturday in the North High road seating area inside the Main Street Customer base, which is in the Galvez Garage, also between Main and North streets with an right of entry on Fifth Street.
The Lagniappe Dulcimer Society will recreation acoustical favorites inside Main Street Sell beginning at 8:30 a.m. and the cast from Center Stage in Ascension Parish will carol selections from “The Spelling Bee,” plus other favorites, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
On Saturdays, able parking is available for market shoppers in the Galvez Garage, which also serves as the Red The boondocks Farmers Market rain location.
The Tuesday Mid-Week Market-place is held from 8 a.m. to noon in the parking lot of the Unitarian Church, 8470 Goodwood Blvd., bear up against permitting.
